If you plan to add products and/or services, advertising mediums, market segments, and target markets in future years, you may want to consider accounting for them now. For example, if you have two products today and plan to introduce two more within the year, then "4" is the number you should enter for the number of products.
>> The "Total Market" for your products and/or services divides into market segments. "Market Segments" are typically divided into those you will target (Target Markets) and those you will not. "Target Markets" are the markets from where your business's sales will come. For example, say the total market for your product (widgets) consists of the legal, construction, education and medical industries. That means all the customers who purchased widgets last year came from one of the four-segmented groups (legal, construction, education and medical). Your business may only target the medical and legal industries. Therefore, there are four market segments for widgets (legal, construction, schools and medical) and you have two target markets (medical and legal).
